110 Stories - iPhone and Android App
Augmented Reality lets you "see" the Twin Towers, take a photo, comment and share your story with the world.
The Twin Towers back in New York
Blending art and technology, 110 Stories enables you to use your iPhone to rediscover lost viewpoints and share memories about the 30 years the Twin Towers stood in Lower Manhattan. A radar display instructs you to point your iPhone at the site of the former Twin Towers, then uses augmented reality to render in the towers’ profile in a pencil-like drawing. You then take a composite photo with the towers accurately depicted in size, orientation, and location. Finally, you are asked to comment on what the photo means to you. Completed stories are submitted to a repository and map located on the 110 Stories web site.
We developed the iPhone and Android Apps and created the Website for this great project in cooperation with our friends of doPanic. We integrated their impressive augmented reality framework that does all the 3d visualisation.
